Brian Tremblay is effectively-acknowledged in the area neighborhood for his pictures, freelance function with CBC Radio and other information agencies, as the creator and host of Borderline Radio’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Heaven, and as a extensive-time musician.

But that wasn’t always the scenario.

Again in large school, Tremblay aided take care of regional bands rather than participate in in them.

“I’ve been actively playing given that I was 13 or 14,” says Tremblay, noting that there had been a whole lot of stops and begins in his personal musical journey.

“Unfortunately, back then I received discouraged a lot because I always when compared myself to many others, so I felt I wasn’t good more than enough.”

So as a substitute, he booked shows for friends’ bands and assisted with their marketing.

Band promotion required band photographs, so Tremblay took people as effectively.

Lots of a long time later, it was Tremblay’s spouse Lynn Eckroth, a touring musician prior to she moved to the Sault, who encouraged the artist to problem himself with songs.

The few have been acknowledged to execute address music as a duo for lots of several years less than the moniker of Flavor of Honey.

“I requested her what she considered about me hoping to create a track,” he says, noting that she has been his biggest supporter and toughest critic.

“She encouraged me to go for it.”

So he did and has been actively endorsing his unique tunes ever considering the fact that.

These days, Tremblay’s primary audio and pictures have very a lot intermingled.

Back again in January 2023, Tremblay organized a photograph exhibit he known as “The Neighbourhood” that was held at The Art Hub.

Tremblay’s pictures in the exhibit were being of the Steelton neighbourhood where he grew up.

“[I] realized following I experienced concluded hanging the demonstrate, that I had songs that were being influenced by developing up on Morin Avenue … that [went] along with these illustrations or photos.”

So the artist made the decision to execute those songs and explain to stories about his memories through the picture exhibition.

The clearly show sold out and was regarded as a wonderful achievement.

“Many of my old neighbours, mates and people who lived in the region came,” states Tremblay.

“I by no means assumed the pictures and tunes had a symbiotic connection until the thought for this present arrived alongside.”

Coming off the good results of the exhibit and effectiveness, Tremblay made a decision to create an album of people music.

His first entire album of unique new music, The Neighbourhood: Tunes &Stories of a Blue Collar Raising, was born.

The press release for the new album notes that the tunes are “a musical journey for the listener” and convey to the tale of “family, really like, lifetime, expanding up, using bikes and enjoying with close friends.”

Tremblay states the 1st one from the album, “Steel Ponies,” is about the “sheer joy of just using bicycles close to the neighbourhood and getting adventures.”

A different monitor, “A Hole Where You Utilised to Be,” is a touching tribute to his late sister, Izzy.

The album launch function, like the exhibit that influenced its generation, will be a live overall performance with projected visuals of the images he has taken.

The Neighbourhood: Tunes & Tales of a Blue Collar Elevating will be initially produced on CD and to all the streaming companies, but Tremblay hopes to set out a minimal version of it on vinyl shortly.

“I’d adore to set out the album on vinyl since it just suits the time time period I’m writing about,” he states.

“Maybe I want to do it due to the fact I just want to see it on an LP. I do like the warmth of the sound and the reality that you are listening to an whole album and which is the greatest way to listen to new music, instead of shuffle.”

The launch occasion will be held at the North Branch of the Sault Ste. Marie Library.

“The space variety of found me,” states Tremblay, noting his pleasure of taking part in non-conventional performance spaces.
